Introduction

You don’t need a university degree to understand brainwaves and entrainment.

Brainwaves

Firstly, the term brainwaves is simply describing the electrical activity of your brain cells. Our brains are in a constant wave state, whether we are asleep or awake, and we’ve been measuring this electrical activity scientifically for many decades now with EEG and other sensitive biofeedback information gathering equipment. If we measured your brainwave state with an EEG machine right now for example, the data, graphed in wavelengths (pictured) might show us you’re within the Beta ‘wakeful’ wave pattern – more on that later.

Entrainment?

Audio Brainwave Entrainment is a combination of music or soundscapes (added for enjoyment) and sound frequencies that together stimulate the brain to synchronise a person’s brainwaves to a desired brainwave state. We can do this by introducing an Isochronic Tone pattern that encourages the natural Frequency Following Response (FFR) of the brain. As you’ll discover with mindfreq audio sessions, achieving a specific wave state can give amazing benefits to the listener.

The overwhelming feeling of accumulated stress in our daily lives can cause our mind and body grief. That is why brainwave entrainment is considered a valuable, useful tool in modern society for all individuals. Achieving a mind state that works in your favour and having a more balanced life is now easily accessible to anyone, through this technology.

How to use

Listening to Audio Brainwave Entrainment

When delivered as an audio track it can be best described as a Brainwave Audio Session Experience (B.A.S.E). An audio track that takes your mind on a purposeful journey. You will find visualisations of a mindfreq b.a.s.e on each audio session product page. Browse the Rain & Thunder Collection and choose from a variety of beneficial audio tracks to see an example of a b.a.s.e visualisation.

Brainwave Entrainment is best delivered to the user via sound through headphones in order to reduce outside noise and distractions for better session effectiveness.

Again, the goal of entrainment is to synchronise a person’s brainwaves to the desired wave state. A mindfreq audio session for example, will contain a soundscape (such as a relaxing rain storm) and Isochronic Tone frequencies. The Isochronic Tone frequencies can be precisely set to the desired brainwave state for the audio.

As you listen to a Brainwave Audio Session Experience, you’ll find the audio session normally begins in the lower Beta or upper Alpha state which is where we spend most of our waking lives – and we are accustomed to it. The next step is to ramp down (usually down) the frequency of the waves in the audio to a lower frequency in another state. This gradual lowering of audio frequencies allows your brain to respond and synchronise naturally and easily to the desired brainwave state.

Slowly and gently mindfreq audio sessions will gradually alter your brain frequencies in order to increase the likelihood of an effective session to occur. This is an effective method of brain and sound synchronization as it allows your brain the time it needs to catch up to the incoming Isochronic Tone frequency stimulation. The ultimate goal after all, is the idea of synchronizing one’s brainwaves to a specific desired brainwave state. The desired state is dictated by the brainwave settings in the audio session – all there is for the user to do, is listen.

Is it Really That Easy?

The brain’s natural Frequency Following Response is easily stimulated. Those of us who already use Isochronic Tones in Brainwave Entrainment know it really is that easy. The best way to experience it is to try it! All you have to do is listen to the audio track with headphones in a comfortable position, with no distractions.

The audio you’re listening to contains a set of Isochronic Tone frequency patterns that will enable your brain state to be altered into another. It is common for example, in meditation sessions to bring the end user from an awake Beta state, to a much lower, deep Theta state. Such a state is common amongst Zen Buddhist meditation practitioners. You can now easily achieve the same state of mind by using the awesome technology that mindfreq delivers.

For example, as we gradually lower the frequency of Isochronic Tones in the audio session, your own brainwaves will naturally start to synchronise to the patterns coming through the sound. Soon, the majority of your brain synchronizes and resonates within the desired frequency range.

Your brainwaves are stimulated through the natural Frequency Following Response to the Isochronic Tones until they’re synchronized – the goal is achieved.

Types

Say hello to: Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta

Beta Alpha Theta Delta Frequencies and MindstateBeta Brainwave State

During waking hours, our mind’s predominantly resonate within the Beta state. When you’re awake, alert, focused or concentrating – you’re in Beta. Due to the nature of modern life, Beta waves can also be associated with stress, anxiety and irritability. This is due to the imbalanced lives we live.

Alpha Brainwave State

Alpha waves are associated with calm relaxation, entering meditation, creativity, memory, learning.

Many brainwave entrainment audio sessions start in the serene Alpha range before gradually ramping down to the lower Theta or even Delta states to achieve something more.

Theta Brainwave State

The Theta state has the ability to bring deep relaxation – much deeper than what is normally achievable by the average person when relaxed and mindful. It’s difficult to enter a Theta state without years of meditation training – or of course, entrainment technology.

Theta is an important realm worth researching further. It is the realm that delivers many benefits to us. For example elimination of stress can occur within Theta which is one of the most important benefits to point out. This occurs at an individual level and is experienced in a unique way by the end user who is listening.

Theta brainwaves are also associated with deep meditation, lucid dreaming, sleep induction and creative visualization. Sleep for example is much easier to achieve once in the Theta state. The benefits of Theta audio brainwave entrainment can be life-changing.

Delta Brainwave State

The Delta state can be described as the abyss of dreamless sleep. It’s associated with the deepest sleep state, and the restoration of mind and body. Mindfreq tracks containing Delta waves allow even the most restless mind much needed relaxation and restful sleep. Most sleep sessions for example, take your mind toward or within Delta – it’s like an emergency first-aid kit for the brain and your whole body.
